Last evening's book club meeting went splendidly; kayaking proved to be quite a fun after-work activity, and during our discussion, nearly everyone ejaculated about how much they thoroughly enjoyed reading Jane Eyre. I don't know what the deuce was up with those Living Social jerks, but luckily we were able to relax and have a pleasant chat about the book despite the deck at Jack's being SUPER crowded.
A few options were thrown out there for our next month's selection, and as Kyle suggested, it might be nice to meet in the middle of August, especially if we choose a shorter book. Here are some potential pics for the month of August:
Vote for your pick in the comments section. Thanks guys!
I want to read Pudd'nhead Wilson! I already read it in a class, but it's a good book and is one of the first uses of fingerprinting to solve a crime. CHA CHING!!!
ReplyDeleteWilson sounds good to me too. Another year of book club, another Twain. My second choice is Emma, if that matters.
ReplyDeleteI vote for Inherit the Wind, obvs, but I would be perfectly happy with Pudd'nhead Wilson. My primary concern is a shorter book because I have a huge pile of library books to work through and little time to read this month..
ReplyDeleteI vote Twain or Inherit the Wind
ReplyDeleteRight on. Honestly, I hope we eventually read all of these books but for August let's do Puddn'head and then discuss it either the week of the 15th or the 22nd.
ReplyDeleteDone and done, Puddn'head it is! But let me be clear about how much I passionately want to do Emma - prepare yourselves for some Wendy-level campaigning! :)
